We reached our goal of getting the message out to all of society, but we also made a dream come true: a few days after the launch of the campaign, the Spanish Parliament ended the exclusion of people with HIV from holding public office. HIV affects more than 160,000 people in our country. Much more than a disease, HIV is a social stigma, though with treatment the viral load is undetectable and the disease becomes untransmissible. People with HIV nonetheless face numerous institutional, legal, and social barriers.

CESIDA launched a campaign with none other than Arkano, one of the edgiest rappers in Spain today. Arkano used his art as a platform to confront those who discriminate against people with HIV.
